Mestres de les mates

Com cada curs, enguany a 6è hem iniciat l'activitat voluntària de matemàtiques avançades "Magister Mathematicae". En aquesta, els alumnes que ho volen tenen tot el curs per resoldre tants exercicis com puguin d'una quarantena de propostes, de diverses dificultats, agrupades per temàtiques. Cada tasca dona un número de punts i amb la meitat de punts de cada temàtica, aconsegueixen un diploma parcial (en total hi ha dotze diplomes). L'alumne més constant, tenaç i perseverant i que aconsegueix els punts necessaris, a final de curs desbloqueja un diploma final de plata, or o diamant en funció de la puntuació final.

De moment ja tenim un grup d'alumnes que s'han decidit a iniciar aquest viatge matemàtic, amb un inici de temporada força vibrant. Ànims i que duri, que el curs és molt llarg!

Ferdinand's hair

“Ferdinand has got long hair, lovely long brown hair but he is so rude and vain”.

This is the story that 6^th graders have been acting out in the Speaking time class. It has been a good opportunity to review some grammar contents such as present continuous, adjective order… but also an excellent moment to memorize their part, dress up and act with other classmates.

As always, they’ve done a great work! Maybe we have future actors and actresses… who knows!

Matemàtiques divertides

Aquest curs hem iniciat una activitat nova a sisè. Es tracta de Divertimàtics. En ella, treballem les matemàtiques d’una manera més lúdica. Abans de començar, podem triar l’activitat que farem i barrejar-nos amb els nens i nenes de les altres classes. Aquestes són molt variades: matijocs, jocs de cubs i reptes matemàtics que compartim amb els companys per passar una bona estona i reforçar els continguts treballats a l’aula.

Ja tenim ganes que arribi la propera sessió de Divertimàtics. Quines activitats ens hauran preparat els mestres?

Colour wheel

Last week, the 6^th graders learned the theory of primary and secondary colours. So, do they know now? A colour wheel is a circle we use to structure colours. We can divide colours in different categories based on the colour wheel.

Primary colours cannot be formed or mixed by any combination of other colours. So, secondary colours are formed by mixing equal parts of two primary colours. But… what happens if we mix a primary and a secondary colour? We get the tertiary colour.

Tertiary colours are the colours formed by mixing a primary and secondary colour.
