Guernica and our versions

The students of sixth grade have worked Guernica in Arts and Crafts. First, they have learnt the historical context of the mural and the artist that is related to the project “De Watts a Jobs”. Next, they have discovered the symbolism of the painting and its importance.

It’s one of the world's greatest anti-war paintings. The three groups have painted the picture on a large common scale and they are finally creating their own interpretation searching some ideas with the help of the iPads. It has been a creative process trying to reproduce a good version of the Guernica.

They have enjoyed a lot with the activity and the result is incredible. Do you want to check it?

 

Setmana de Carnaval

Carnestoltes ens envaeix!

Aquesta setmana ha estat de disbauxa i gresca, tal i com mana el Rei Carnestoltes. Durant aquests dies hem seguit totes les consignes proposades. Vam començar dilluns amb els mitjons canviats, després vam dur collarets i corbates, barrets i perruques, i  per finalitzar dijous vam lluir davantals ben divertits amb els que vam acabar celebrant Dijous Gras.

I per fi arribarà el dia esperat... Tots disfressats de personatges de contes, oficis o superherois desfilarem contents i somrients pel pati de l’escola per lluir els nostres vestits. Visca el Rei Carnestoltes!

Visitem el museu de la colònia Vidal

Dijous 13 de febrer l'alumnat de 6EP va visitar el museu viu ubicat a la colònia tèxtil Can Vidal. Al llarg del matí, tres guies caracteritzats com a personatges de principis del segle XX van comentar un extens recorregut per totes les instal·lacions del recinte. Vam poder veure les dutxes, l'oficina de la Caixa Manresa, una vivenda d'obrers, safareig, botigues... i, evidentment, una nau de la fàbrica on vam poder veure el funcionament d'un teler.

Aquesta activitat està vinculada al projecte actual de socials "De Watt a Jobs". Com a activitat relacionada realitzaran una destresa de pensament "Les parts i el tot" sobre el que han vist en aquesta excursió.

Dr Frankenstein and his monster come to school!

This afternoon, the students of 5th and 6th grade have enjoyed a play in English in the school theatre. Today it’s been time for "Frankenstein", a well-known classic book that has been adapted for English young learners. 

The students have had the opportunity to listen to English native actors and actresses, some of them have participated on the stage and they have aske the members of the theatre company some questions. 

It's been a different and funny way to practise their oral skills. Good job, everyone!
