In the English class, 6th graders have been learning different idioms. But, do you know what an idiom is? It is an expression whose meaning is not predictable from the usual meaning of its words. Do you get it? It might seem easy peasy lemon squeezy, but it isn’t.
Students
had to first choose the idiom in English, understand its meaning and find an image
to represent it. Later on, they had to look for the corresponding idiom in
their language, either Catalan or Spanish and try to represent it with another
image. Finally, they had to write an example using the idiom in English.
Some of
them found the activity a piece of cake but some others thought it was a hard
nut to crack!
